Home Care Package - FAQs
What is a Home Care Package (HCP)?
A Home Care Package is government-subsidised aged care support that helps older Australians keep living independently at home. It can fund personal care, domestic help, meal preparation, nursing, allied health and social support.
How is a Home Care Package different from the NDIS?
Home Care Packages are part of the aged care system and are generally for people aged 65 and over (50+ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people), whereas the NDIS supports people under 65 with disability. We support people across both systems.
What are the Home Care Package levels?
Packages range from Level 1 (basic needs) to Level 4 (high needs), with funding increasing at each level. Your level is determined through an aged care assessment (ACAT/My Aged Care).
Can you help with the new Support at Home program?
Yes. As the aged care system transitions to the Support at Home program, we can help you understand how it affects your services and continue delivering the in-home support you rely on.
