I cannot recommend Equity Support Group enough. San is incredibly easy to work with, responsive and truly dedicated to providing purposeful support. The support provided by the group and support workers has allowed me as a carer to regain so much of my life, as well as supported my loved one in significant developments in their independence. Since commencing support with Equity, they have started part time work, a TAFE course and can now utilise community supports (bus networks, their own shopping etc) even when not being supported by the service. This is testament to the scaffolding that the service provides for not just direct support, but also the education and development of their participants.
We have had Support Groups for many years and up until now not had the complete care we were hoping for. San has provided total care with her Support Workers, working together as a team providing personal care, everyday household tasks and support with travel for appointments. Communication between everyone involved leaves me in no doubt my son is being cared for in the best possible way. Thank you San for your commitment and caring not just for my son but for our family as well.
